The Heart Rhythm Society, founded in 1979, has a membership of approximately 5,000 physicians and associated professionals from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and many other countries. The Heart Rhythm Society is the dominant professional group representing the allied specialties of cardiac pacing and cardiac electrophysiology and plays an important role not only in education but also as an intermediary between government regulatory agencies and members of the profession.
The Annual Scientific Sessions held in Denver, Colorado in 2007 proved a desirable destination for nearly 8,000 scientific attendees and over 12,000 attendees overall! Heart Rhythm 2008 will be held in San Francisco, California, and is expected to attract over 9,500 professionals.
